See that lime green icon thingie at right, in the sidebar? Doesn’t it make me look prestigious and muy importante? No? But it’s a big icon! And green!
So I’m speaking at this Web 2.0 Expo in San Francisco on April 24. Not as resident geexpert or anything like that; more like “everyday regular user person” of photosharing and community sites. Here is my dorky pic and bio. I get a sweet, free pass to the rest of the conference, so I’m coming up for three days of it, and having myself a right good time to boot. Perhaps I’ll meet a special someone there and become a Mrs. Nerdlinger!
So, here are the things I have asked you to do so far, in order to validate my pathetic existence:
- Buy a $2k pass to the Web 2.0 Expo, so you can cheer me on;
- Write witty and insightul comments on my new blog at www.93003.net;
- Schlep down to LA anything I’m doing a reading at the Ponyshow;
- Become my fan on Facebook; and
- Be my friend on MySpace.
Is that so much? Yes? What if I show you more banners? MORE BANNERS!!!
PS This validation-obsession/abandonment complex is a direct result of my parent’s divorce when I was twelve.
