Tamar sings Tainted Love

Oops! Hi! Sorry, the summer is go-go-going. I kind of immersed myself in my new job situation from (literally) the second hour after I stepped off the plane from Seattle to this past Friday. Then the Fabulous Tamar from NYC has been visiting and, by the end of today, we will have completed the following tasks in the past 60 hours:

  • Listened to live music high above downtown whilst drinking healthy cocktails (thank you, acai berry! i am healthy now thanks to you. oh wait, i had the bloody mary. tomatoes!)
  • Shopped and shopped more
  • Hung out at a fancy beach house, hwah hwah hwah (those are rich people sounds)
  • Watched a startling and often terrifying illegal fireworks display
  • Went on a train, olde-tymey style
  • Drank wine
  • Drank champagne
  • Looked at live bees
  • Went to a dog show! The Scotty dog won the Best of Show!
  • Listened to live, Earnest-with-a-capital-E and very odd prog-rock emo punk fusion noise while trying to eat and digest Vietnamese food
  • Drank Mai-Tais
  • Drank Budweiser from the bottle
  • Sang and danced to the best the 70s and 80s had to offer at my town’s karaoke/Fellini movie/Chinese restaurant fever-dream nightclub
  • Visited an adult book store
  • Ate
  • Ate more

Hence. Hence. Now I have to go now!

Damn, you rock. Where do you find all the energy for such good times? What book did you buy?

Hmm, you are not drinking nearly enough. But I do like your rich people sounds.

The “book” shopping trip at the adult bookstore was a quest to find those pen with people on them that, when you tip the pen over, become naked. Apparently, these don’t exist in Australia and I need to send some to an improv friend (as Jeff pointed out on FB, “Obama needs to select you for some kind of diplomatic mission”).

We were through with alcohol today until Tamar called her husband and he mentioned that its happy hour time. Happy hour! I think our third wind is here!

Okay, it’s the end of the visit and I must add: Walked on the pier; visited with Jeanie, so much more shopped; bonded with seniors; ate barbecue; bought ginger ale; flossed.
