a mildly amusing 21st Century tale
Day 17 of my this year’s Advent Calendar has proven to be a somewhat funny one.
Contained within the contents of that day is a link to a gallery of Old Soviet Christmas Cards. I found it via a link from a two-year-old BoingBoing post.
Two days ago, the awesome site Bedazzled posted the link to the Soviet site [who credited me.] A short time later, the link was posted by:
- Cynical-C [who credited Bedazzled.] A short time later, the link was posted by:
- Neatorama [who credited Cynical-C.] A short time later, the link was posted by:
- Drawn! [who credited Neatorama.] A short time later, the link was posted by:
- BoingBoing! [who kind of forgot they posted the link two years ago]
Full circle, baby. I have closure, and shall now retire from the internets.
postscript: as i mentioned below in the comments, after cynical-c so kindly popped in, i have been planning on crediting all sites and sources that have been used in the creation of my advent calendar. this is true, i mean it! i believe fully in giving credit where it’s due, even when it’s just a little link, leap-frogging about the i-niverse.
The most amazing thing about this is that everyone actually gave credit to the sites where they found the link 🙂
except, ahem, for my original december 17 advent post. but i was going to thank everyone at once, i swear!
