groovy yule

I’m in Boston and have been stuffing the pie-hole with lots and lots of pie. Both my sisters are incredible cooks.. how can I be related to these culinary whizzes?

It was a strange and wonderful holiday. Profane, intense, utterly hilarious. The entire day was a tribute to James Brown, to my mother and father, and to reclaiming a usually loaded, agenda-laden day and making it ours — to do with what we wish!

Food, naps, Canadian geese, nephews, singing, snarking, sleet, and Borat! I loved it.

Right now I’m staying in the apartment upstairs from my sister’s family. Watching me is a cat named Chopper who, at 19 and in frail health, is gasping in a rattling and open-mouthed way that I think may be his version of a purr. So, time to pet his bony little head.

The (really good) flickr pictures will be up as soon as I can hack a wireless connection to my laptop.

Hope you had a good one and made it yours.
