the machines are against me
I’m aware of my whining this week here in this space. I have been a little bit stressed out and blue and things just aren’t going the way I want them to go. There’s no giant crisis, it’s just been hard to be me this week.
So, here’s more whinepost. Let’s try to get this out of my system, okay?
Within the past two weeks these things have happened.
- I have had to oversee the repair of three toilets on two coasts
- My laptop died and I have had to endure several teeth-grindingly annoying encounters with the local Mac repair shop people, who are dumb and condescending, just a stellar combo
- I lost everything on my hard drive, which didn’t hurt until I remembered a video project I was working on of strangers in the rain in New York
- The massive computer repair charge made my bank suspicious, so they shut down my ATM card just as I was trying to buy gas for my empty gas tank
- Because of its vintage, my car key twisted in the door lock like a piece of taffy
- Because of its vintage, my car doesn’t really like to start all that much
- The internet speed at work decided to grind to a near halt yesterday, as I was hustling to get crucial reports uploaded
- I can’t find my camera’s battery charger
See? Proof positive.
For what it’s worth, I can’t find my camera battery charger either. I wonder if they took off and met up somewhere in chargerville where they dance the electric slide and drink blue Hawaiians.
It’s a nice image but they need to come home now. Don’t they miss spooning our batteries?
