happy campy summer!

As everyone was posting the chirpiest summery posts today — new grandbaby! wedding! picnic! isn’t this weather grand! looooove! — I was almost comically sick in bed, felled by a goddamn cold, caught in goddamn Seattle. I ate chicken soup and watched a documentary on the atomic bomb. Then I had to go to work, on a Saturday. And then I had to miss my first viewing of my sweetheart playing in band. My sweetheart’s in a band!

Even though I feel like poo, I am extremely grateful that I was not sick while in Seattle — last year’s trip there I had the worst cold of my life, if you remember. This year’s trip, I will write about someday soon — it was the best one yet. So good, highly emotional, very productive and loving. Whoa.

After returning from the office and canceling all evening plans, I wised up and, getting back into bed, I started watching early 80s musicals.

First up, Starstruck:

Then I watched (thanks Ted for the suggestion) The Apple:

Now I’m at a crossroads, and somewhat limited by my streaming choices. Tommy would be just right, if it were available. Or should I veer back into new wave extravaganza with Ladies and Gentlemen, The Fabulous Stains? Or descend further into Apple-esque weirdness with the car-wreck-fascinating Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band?

Well, I’ll tell you what won out, Mary. There’s an OBVIOUS choice. It’s pride weekend, after all!

That’s right, Thank God It’s Friday.

I was just thinking to myself today: Gosh, Becky is such a giant bucket of talent. From what you do on stage to your crafts and your writing ability, that is an awful lot of amazing. I loved seeing you perform once again and I did in fact have a dream about the lobster story. I am also glad you were not sick WHILE in Seattle, but I apologize on behalf of the city for all the germs. I sure do love you, miss.
