tumblr roundup: ponies, KISS, meanies

Snippets from my online scrapbook of sorts, tumblr.

Tiny baby miniature horse, frolicking!

they’re worth a deuce

Scott’s show on WFMU featured an interview by Tom Snyder with KISS. It was an oldie (obviously, since TS is no more) with the original members.

They were so young, and having such fun, and interview has minimum of the tiresome Gene Simmons of later years (“I like to please the lovely ladies,” etc.) They were just hyper and psyched to be famous. Hard to believe they existed without that shell of cynicism and money grubbing.

And ick. A thick shell of ick.

PS I did really like KISS for a long time.

in the midst of my cooling-off period

I just got a rather unvarnished email from an elderly friend of the family. In it, he scolded me about something and told me to “toe the line.”

It’s no big deal and he’s well-intentioned but he was such a meany about it. He couldn’t have pushed my buttons better if he tried.

I currently am in self-imposed lockdown — I am not allowed to email him (or anyone else) about this issue till tomorrow.

I’m hoping that age is bringing a little less hot headedness to my hot hot head.

I saw the video of the horse earlier this week and actually loved out loud. It made me wish I’d given my horses a ball to see if they would have played like that. What is it about larger animals that it seems more fun to watch them play – kind of unexpected I guess.
I too loved KISS in my day. I’m over it AND that was 30 years ago.

    Beth, I hear you callin’.

Very smart to implement the 24 hour waiting period for deep breathing before you bash some heads together.
