READ ME, or: they shoot bloggers, don’t they?
1001 is the natural number following 1000 and followed by 1002.

So, this is my one thousand and first published post. Hooray for me and holy crap!
I only started really doing what is called “blogging” in 2006, but as you’ll see in the archives, I’ve put pre-blog stuff from my website in previous incarnations. I’ve had a website of some sort since 1997, and have had beckyhaycox.com since 1999. I’m still waiting to buy hambox.com someday.
It’s been a perfectly acceptable past time, this writing on the internet. This post-a-day thing has been surprisingly easy, and I am happy to have so much — what, content? crap? — under my belt. So to speak.
I do look forward to 2012, to writing only when I want to, and to welcoming back my readers/commenters. Nothing like posting every day for a year for people to step waaaaaay back, including myself. Do I blame any of us? Absolutely not. I feel like I’m in one of those old-school dance marathons, where one of the dancers is barely hanging on, held up by sheer will,ย as all of us observe, cycling through admiration, pity, contempt, and ennui.
I do ask of you a little thing on this auspicious occasion. Comment! Just drop a little line, say hi! DE-LURK! Oh yeah, that means you, Chris DeJ, Paul T, Ricky R, and all the other friends who read but have not, at this point, tiresomely solved the CAPTCHA and said hey.
Consider it a Christmas present from you to me. I shan’t ask anything else of you.
I thank you, dear reader. You are the Benevolent Eyes that give me a little shred of purpose in this nutty world!
Love love love you!!! (and your glorious blog!)
xoxoxo
Happy 1001st Blog post ๐ And Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy Hannukah lol.
Congratations Becky on another great blog
And to your first publication and many more!

happy 1001. I started a blog and there it sits…….. BUT at least I have the name.
You’ve done it now, by Jove, you’ve really done it now…
Hooray for you, Miss Lady! I *mean* to comment more – I have read all your posts! You are a treasure trove of amazing facts and fantastic stories. You are the best! I hope we can make a connection over the holidays!
I love your present to the world. Thank you for giving. I love you.
Go BeckY! You can do it! Run Run Run! Oh, wait……..that’s the other encouragement-y thing! ๐
You are awesome, your blog is awesome, and whenever I read it I love it! xoxo, Roxy
Amazing! You gotz skills! (I am the lurkiest lurker of them all!)
Congrats on the milestone.
Hi Becki! I’d like to wish you congratulations on reaching this milestone. As the titular head of the Cassandra’s Call Production Company, I would like to ask for your assistance. I need to transfer $1,000,000,000 into a bank account of a Southern California improvisor for highly curious reasons you don’t need to delve to closely into. This action will also give you a male sexual organ, which will be greatly increased. You will also get a million dollar cookie recipe. And a pony.
Becky, don’t despair. We are only awed into silence as we read your continuously interesting and amusing and engaging posts. Seriously. I read your blog all the time! And I love it!
C’mon, heart to heart: Your inspiration is such that I’m going to resuscitate my dead blog – call it zombie blog, the blog that wouldn’t die – because you showed me the way. Is that a good thing? Don’t know. But for god’s sake, you can take some credit, or blame for it.
ps And your fiendishly good pictures.
I guess I need to figure out that whole RSS feed thing or something as I never really see your blog posts unless you link them on the facey pages. Hence the reason I have never seen any of the entries about trivia, that’s right, TEAM Trivia, with the Breakfast Club, until I searched for them tonight thinking, “She couldn’t possibly have made 1001 blog posts and never mentioned trivia.” Though I didn’t see mention of the first time I joined you and you made me eat the answer sheet for the picture round because I was wrong (NOT) about the picture of Erica Hill and I made us go “Double or Nothing” cause I knew, with every fiber of my being, that picture was Erica Hill.

So proud of you! By the way, I have read EVERY one of them! That’s love ๐
Congratulations, and thanks for solving my dilemma – what holiday gift to get for the woman who has everything. Free shipping, too. Easier than Amazon. And way more fun.
