agonnee!
I saved the screenshot above from the start of a game of Scrabulous with my friend Innbo a few months ago. My tiles spelt out “agonnee” all by themselves. Ha ha!
Add a Sob! to the end of that Ha Ha, as Scrabulous is now, possibly permanently, defunct. Hasbro, the makers of Scrabble, got all litigious and forced Scrabulous to be yanked. Hasbro then rushed out an online beta version of Scrabble that sucks, sucks, sucks so hard I am simply unable to count the ways.
Of course, you may know this already; many of you were my Scrabulous partners. Many of you know that I co-wrote an epic movie thanks to Scrabulous.
It’s bizarre to me how a 432×273 pixel area on a screen could take on such monumental importance in my life. But, seriously, it did. Such a friendly way to keep connected to one’s community. I mourn.
I *totally* feel your pain. Oh, the games that are forever suspended in limbo. And my international friends who will have to carry on without me. And if it comes back, I’m going to make you play with me again. You disappeared after our first match. 🙁
I meant to play that & now I can’t. I guess I am glad I never got addicted because so many seem to be in agonnee over its demise.
