art: goooood
matthew porter: the amazing pow kid
after seeing an amazing monkey-as-percy-dovetonsils portrait, i perused the vast repertoire of this kid. lord, lord. birds! robots! wrestlers! freaks! charts! thanks to the delicious zoomar. percy dovetonsils? shame on you for not knowing.
denise burge: my original dirt
i think i found her site after seeing a pic on flickr. love her bio and her quilts are crazy! crazy quilts!
marian bantjes: “i love being honest, and nice and polite and caring and kind.”
she’s an illustrator and designer who uses calligraphic and typographic elements in her art (yipes, i brewed up a mouthful.) her work is delicate, lovely, poised, mysterious. it makes me yearn to go back to design school (in the pre-computer age) and really pay attention in typography class.
eric joyner: robots! robots! robots!
reading eric’s bio, i realize we were at the academy of art at the same time — it wasn’t the insane mega-franchise that it is now. hey eric, remember the little punkette, asleep in the back of typography class? that was meeee!
sam javanrouh: daily dose of imagery
i subscribe to the rss feed for sam’s lovely photos and it’s just a canadian delight every morning. i love canadians.. there are more than one on this list!
souther salazar: welcome to the treehouse
crafty art. dioramas, cutouts, mini-installations.. magical. reading her website i realized she had a table at the bizarre bazaar last year, the one I went to. waaah! i wish i knew that, but it was a madhouse and i spent one million dollars anyhows.
Was Souther’s art the art that made you go white when you saw it? The one next to Jordan Crane’s table?
Wha? Wha? To the left? With the painting you liked? Did I oogle her and not even remember her?
