I love music. I love music!

Art vs. Science

A mad scientist’s “Magic Fountain” of light that emits a sonic burst that turns ordinary people into amazing dancers? Best video ever. Thank you, Art vs. Science! As I said on Facebook, I really recommend you watch this if you have any desire to get into my brain.

Celebrity Playlist

Celebrity Playlist Podcast from iTunes. I’m surprised I like this, since I hate the word “celebrity” and this podcast is just an obvious ploy to get people to buy music from iTunes.

But (but!) there are truly great moments. I mean, most of these so-called celebrities are musicians and true music geeks and it’s fun to hear people’s justifications for their sometimes great, sometimes awful music selections. The Cee-Lo one I mention below may be one of the best podcasts I’ve listened to.

Do not miss these in particular:

  • Cee-Lo/Bruno Mars /Philip Lawrence
  • Elton John and Leon Russell
  • Heart
  • Cyndi Lauper

If By Yes

Petra Haden, Yuka Honda, and two members from Cornelius! Holy crap. Creators of three of my favorite CDs (Petra Haden Sings: The Who Sell Out, Viva! La Woman, Fantasma), got together and made an album called Salt on Sea Glass. Do not miss “Eliza” featuring David Byrne. Oh! Here it is:

Sweet and delicious. [direct link]

Bonus: Here’s Petra singing I Can See for Miles — all with her mouth! [direct link]

Okay, that was the best video ever! The Magic Fountain is a place I must visit daily. Wouldn’t that be wild if your elderly relative was that dude with the woofers attached to his chest? He is missing his pants, although he’s rocking those walking shorts and knee socks pretty hard.

On a related note, I think I want a strobe light.

Oh, I HOPE my elderly relative is that science guy! That would make things all right, wouldn’t it!?
