I got a few lovely cards in the mail for my birthday (thanks, Carol, Tracy, Lisa, and Cloudy — that last one with a gift!) Among the awesomeness (and trust me, they were all awesome:)

From Molly. You may have read yesterday’s post about our preoccupation with Fortune. As you might imagine, this perfect card made me laugh and laugh.

From my sister and her men. My family is a pretty non-traditional family; receiving a card that is signed/decorated by multiple kinfolk is a rarity. It just filled my heart. My elusive nephew Andrew, thanking me for the Turkish Evil Eye ornament I gave him for Christimas! An adorable drawing by my nephew Peter! Nice notes by Annie and Mark! I feel like the luckiest aunt, sister and sister-in-law in the world.

And thanks to everyone that commented, sent stuff, hugged me in person, bought me one too many mojitos — this was such a powerful and wonderful birthday. I am truly blessed.
