say hey to your peeps

Kinder Surprise Eggs are wonderful and they remind me of Easter — at least, after the nightmares go away:

I was on my way to the Professor’s annual “Pre”aster party when I stopped at my favorite Middle Eastern/Argentinian deli in Ventura. There was a very friendly, laid-back teen girl working the counter. I asked her for a pound of baba ganoush so she spooned some out, then weighed it. She happened to measure out exactly a pound, on the first try. Suddenly, she took a slow stroll around the work counter, coming back to where she started. “I felt compelled to take a victory lap,” she said.

I feel giddy and springy!

Some eggs, prepared for you by our loving hands:

Must rest up for more eggy madness tomorrow. Happy Easter, Chag Sameach, and hope you had a rockin’ Ostara.

Finalists

Update: I attended a fine brunch this morning: Crepes Suzette, Bananas Foster and Nutella, for starters. However, I was so out of it after the festivities last night that I plaintively asked if there was any coffee — while I was bringing a cup of coffee to my lips.

And PS, thank you to Joel P for the hilarious blog post title.

I need to take more victory laps in my life. That was awesome.
